Meet Nicola
Hi, I’m Nicola. I live in Essex with my husband Ross and our little boy, Harry, who is 4. Being a mum is my greatest joy, and Harry is my little best friend. Family means everything to me, and creating special memories together is incredibly important, especially since I was told I couldn’t have children, making Harry our little miracle
After having Harry, I decided to take a career break to become a full-time mum. However, as bills started to rise, we needed extra income, and I had to consider going back to work, which I dreaded as it could compromise my time with Harry. I began searching for ways to work from home and around my son, but found nothing promising until I discovered this travel business. It seemed too good to be true, offering complete flexibility, the ability to work from anywhere, and involvement in travel—my passion.
Prior to having my son, I worked in the wedding industry for 15 years, so my travel expertise naturally extended to honeymoons and weddings abroad. My love for travel began with family holidays to Ibiza and Tenerife in my teens. At 18, I became a holiday rep and worked in Majorca and Gran Canaria, fuelling my desire to explore further. I later travelled around Australia, Fiji, and Thailand, which was an incredible experience. After settling down and meeting my husband, we continued to travel and make amazing memories. I want Harry to have these experiences too.
This travel business has allowed me to build something that fits around my life, giving me the freedom to spend time with my family and travel with them. Initially, I started this to help with bills and avoid getting a part-time job once Harry went to school. However, I soon realised the potential it had for my life and went all in. I now have a growing business in an area I love. While I adore being a mum, this business has given me a new sense of purpose and a fulfilling life for myself too. I love that I can also share this with others and get joy from helping them set up in this travel business, seeing them achieve their dreams and goals.
Meet Lucinda
Hello! I'm Lucinda, wife and mum of 1 gorgeous 5 year old, Bethanie, and dog mum to a smelly old border terrier, Ruby. We live in West Sussex and we are all travel addicts!
Like most of you here, I've always loved to travel. Even when things inevitably go wrong, like when we got stuck in Bangkok for 9 days because of the ash cloud, or getting food poisoning in Cambodia and losing half a stone. Now, my daughter also has the travel bug (or "holiday home" as she calls it!) and I love to take her along for the ride. My favourite type of travel is the complicated, unusual ones - I love a multi-stop and have a strong passion for South East Asia. I am a sucker for secluded white beaches, but also love a city trip, dancing until the early hours!
My first solo trip was to Devon on the National Express when I was 17, and thanks to my parents unphased attitude towards adventure, I've never felt scared of travelling solo, long distance, or to unusual destinations.
I've been running my online travel business, TripLux Travel, since 2021, and it really was where it all began. Initially, I started this venture as a distraction tactic to my stressful corporate job in technology procurement. I was feeling very dissatisfied with the restrictive nature of my 9-5, and it was great to work on something more rewarding by booking dream holidays. However, as time went on, I realised that this "hobby" had the potential to transform my life in incredible ways. It wasn't just about earning money; it was about creating the life I truly desired from something I am so passionate about - travel! Now, I'm not only exploring amazing destinations but also helping others to achieve the same level of freedom and flexibility in their lives. My daughter is my top priority, and I'm thrilled that I can put her needs first, all thanks to the super flexible business model we've built. No longer do I have to miss out on bedtime routines or half term fun, I can create the lifestyle I want for us.
