Welcome to Lanzarote, where the fire meets the ocean. A scenic island full of beautiful sun kissed beaches and one of the most captivating islands of the Canary archipelago.
Arrival and first impressions;
The first thing you notice when arriving are the beautiful landscapes, endless stretches of black lava, and dotted around whitewashed villages, whilst landing on the runway that leads into the ocean, at this point secretly wondering are we meant to be this close to the water?
Touching down in Arrecife airport, where the heat as you step off the plane suddenly takes your breath away and the sun shines gloriously on your skin you so desperately want to tan. Waiting at the taxi rank, which you are not there for long and on to Puerto Del Carmen, a 15 minute drive away.
Beach Bliss;
Puerto Del Carmen is home to some of Lanzarote’s most beautiful beaches. Playa Grand, with its soft, golden sands and tranquil waters, its perfect for families and those looking to relax under the sun. One of the main things I loved about the beaches is their accessible pathways onto the beach for pram and wheelchair users, also offering a few shelters those seeking to get out the hot sun, especially when the children want to sleep. Also, offer a selection of amazing water sports, from snorkelling to jet skis, there is something for everyone.
For those who crave adventure and staying on land, there are many opportunities to explore the surrounding volcanic landscapes with hiking or biking tours. The nearby Ranch Texas Lanzarote Park offers a fun day out for families, with its zoo, water park and live shows.
Retail Therapy;
Just when you think Puerto Del Carmen couldn’t offer anymore, their array of shops and outlets. Nestled in the vibrant resort town, the shopping centre is a haven for those who love to indulge in a bit of retail therapy. The shopping centre boasts a wide variety of stores, catering to every taste and budget. From high-end fashion to boutiques if you are looking for that more unique style or even gift.
The shopping centre is not just about shopping and dining, there is a hub of entertainment. Catch the latest blockbuster at the modern cinema, not to forget the family features of play areas for children and the family photo opportunities!
Nightlife and entertainment;
When the sun sets, Puerto Del Carmen comes alive with an array of entertainment options. The town is famous for its buzzing nightlife, with numerous bars, clubs and live music venues to choose from. Dance the night away at a beachfront club, enjoy a cocktail at a chic bar, or catch a live performance. No matter your style there is something for everyone.
Conclusion;
Puerto Del Carmen isn’t just a destination, it's an experience that captures the essence of Lanzarote’s beauty and vibrancy. There is something for everyone.
So pack you bags and let the magic of Puerto Del Carmen sweep you off your feet. Your next adventure awaits in this enchanting slice of paradise.
